North Baker Beach

Baker Beach, a mile-long sandy beach right in San Francisco with amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The northern end of Baker Beach is designated clothing-optional and is popular with nudists who prefer the nude beach experience. In 1986 Baker Beach was the original location of the Burning Man art festival.

There are two ways to get to the beach. The easiest is from baker beach parking lot next to Battery Chamberlin and walk down the ramp to the beach. The second is hike down Sand Ladder trail from Lincoln Boulevard. The trail is steep but with amazing views. Street parking is available at the trail head on Lincoln Boulevard.

At the northern end of the beach rocks jet out into the water. When the tide low, you are able to explore past the rocks to Marshall beach.

Is Baker Beach Clothing Optional

Yes,
The northern beach is officially designated clothing-optional, also called North Baker Beach.
Nudist who go too far south on the beach into the family area may get ticked for indecent exposure.
